Quite silly statement.. Too much jokes and comic moments in general, like it was kind of farce not a trial. Sounds like kinky joke just for audience. If the criminal present a danger as violence in general or try to escape IS the reason to chain. Anyway, if Dahmer – HYPOTHETICALLY – could attack Dietz, so its not because of he is "right type". I dont think any criminal think about “my type or not”. Totally silly statement.

I disagree with the commenter that said it was silly. I read a recent interview with that woman who was one of his lawyers and she said essentially the same thing. It’s legitimate, JD wouldn’t have been interested in either one of those people.
Besides, if you read this stuff at all you know serial killers aren’t all the same out of control maniac you might have in your head.
