A quick note to say thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to read, share, or cite anything from this blog.
When I first started Control out of Control over a year ago, I just wanted a space to pull together some of my Jeffrey Dahmer research, debunk a few persistent myths, and build a portfolio of non-fiction writing. I never expected it to reach this many people – especially as I don’t post anywhere near as often as I’d like to!
To be honest, it feels a bit jarring to see the site come up in search results sometimes, and it can feel a bit vulnerable, but I’ve become more self-assured in large part due to some Park Dietz videos I watched, when Park’s own unapologetic confidence and faith in his convictions boosted my own (so thanks, doc! 😆💖).
I also appreciate the readers and subscribers whose interest, messages and comments make it feel less like just posting into The Void. The Dahmer ‘community’ isn’t as loud as it was during the Netflix-induced mania, but it’s nice to know some people still find the topic interesting and want to engage respectfully.

You’re the person I know who knows the most about Dahmer. Others are just making up things that didn’t happen about the case, or posting irrelevant things about Jeffrey. Unfortunately, the fandom isn’t what it was three years ago. I had several friends who were into the topic, but they’ve forgotten about it; it was just a fad after the TV series. I don’t follow it anymore, but his case intrigues me a lot. Thanks for sharing your valuable information! 👍
